Get Excited! (:

It’s a tutorial!!  (:

Marbled Nails

I was just gonna post a pic. since this is my first attempt at this.  But since I still had all my supplies mess out, I figured, “what the hey!  let’s make a tutorial out of this!”

So today is your lucky day.

Gather all the supplies you will need.  Which is just things you should already have at home.

Please ignore that mess and if you can’t read the text on the photo its warm water in a disposable cup, toothpicks, colors of your choice (I chose red, white, and blue as independence day is approaching), top coat, nail polish remover, cotton balls, and tooth picks.

Drip your polish into the cup to make a bullseye pattern like so.  It is very important that the caps already be unscrewed of your polish because it dries very quickly.

Very lightly swirl the polish with the tooth pick.

Dip your finger into the polish nail side down.  Use the tooth pick to gather all that extra polish around your finger.

(gross. please don’t pay attention to Big M’s grody fingernail)

Here it is almost finished.  You have to clean that mess off your finger and be very careful not to get any nail polish remover or cotton near your cute new manicure.  Paint it with a topcoat so it lasts a little longer.

Here’s a close-up of mine done.  As I have pointed out I have a few smudges and it’s still a little messy around the cuticle area.

TIP:  I painted a white topcoat on my nails to make the colors pop a little more.  I didn’t do this on B’s nails and it didn’t seem to make too much of a difference.

The Low Down

This is really cute, but takes practice and a ton of patience.  You must work very quickly.  The mess your left with after you dip your nail makes me question whether or not its even worth the trouble.  Some tutorials tell you to put tape around your finger.  But, I’m impatient and the way I see it, you’d still probably get polish around your cuticle so I didn’t even bother with that.  I’ll probably do it again because I like nail art, but leopard print is seriously easier.  (:

Stuff I Dig

It’s no big secret I love shopping.  And I love a good deal.  I love browsing the internet for ideas and inspiration for anything from fashion to how-to’s and home decorating.  So it’s a post of the things I’ve been obsessing over this summer so far.  There’s a lot more I’d like to add to it, but haven’t had the time to work on some things.

Masonic’s Baseball.  I love watching them play.

Milk Glass.  I am lllooovvving milk glass right now.  I wish this beautiful collection belonged to me.

Flea Markets and Garage Sales.  They have the biggest flea market here called Rogers.  You can find such cool, and random stuff.  I went last friday and was literally drueling at all the cool vintage things they have.

I love this kitchen.  My bottom cabinets are already this color but with oil rubbed knobs and drawer pulls.  But the highlight here is the apron front sink.  I neeeeed this sink, Right. Now.

Kettle Cooked Chips.  I have fallen in love with these thick, crunchy, twisted, slices of potato happiness.  I must have them every day.

Making my own frozen coffee drinks.  They taste so good and I have saved so much money compared to getting them at expensive coffee shops.  Use double strength coffee if you’re making it right away.  If you’re going to put it in the fridge to cool and drink later, a la iced coffee, make it how you normally do.  A summer must have for this mama.

Black Raspberry Chip Ice Cream.  MMMmmmm.  I was at a Birthday Party for a friend of my daughters when I was introduced to this purple, creamy, goodness.  I’m totally hooked.  It has to have the dark chocolate chips in it.  And the sad part of this story is, it is really hard to find.  Really. I will leave an ice cream stand if they don’t have it.  And the closest I’ve come is Handel’s Chocolate raspberry Truffle.  Ruggles makes it and I’ve found it at the Marathon in my city, (also, the one and only gas station. Imagine that). But its like $7.00 for a half-gallon thingie.  Only in severe desperation will I pay that.  I haven’t seen it in any grocery stores in either of the town’s nearest to me.  But Wal-Mart does have Breyer’s for around $3.50 a half-gallon thingie.  Enough about the ice cream already.

Leopard Print nails.  This is so easy to do and so versatile.  You can do pretty much any color combo.  Right now my toes are pink leopard print.  I’ve done teal and standard leopard also.  Try it.  Totally easy, I swear.  And I paint my nails like a 5-year-old.

I really, really like this Juicy Couture bag.  It has a bow on it. It’s sparkly.  It’s pink.  It’s silver.  It’s everything a girly girl loves.  (:

I mean, my names Tiffany.

Aaaaannnndddd….. I’ve started pinning.  I heart Pinterest.

Yupp, that about explains it.  It’s kinda like looking through a pottery barn catalogue.

We’ve canceled our satellite tv subscription and switched to Netflix and local channels only.  The whole family has enjoyed it.  The kids have seen every single episode of Spongebob and I’ve got to catch up on Secret Life.  It’s a win/win.

Our wittle baby tittens.  =D  We have a rescue that had 4 kittens almost 6 weeks ago.  3 Grey and white tabbys and a black and white tabby.  This is not one of them because I can’t get my kittens to pose for a cute picture, but it looks enough like the 3 grey and white ones.  My girls are enjoying looking after them and the mama is soo good with them.  They just got started on kitten food and we’re trying to help them figure out the litter box.

Can I get a “you go girl”

Because I posted that from my phone and it actually worked!  Dosent take much to excite me :)  and please stop all your grammar correcting okay!  Be nice. ;)  I’m working from a phone.

Coupon craziness

One of the ways I save money is by using coupons.   I started couponing about 2 years ago and was loving it. My stock pile was growing and so was my coupon pile. I heard a bunch of different stories on how to organize coupons. My coupons soon outgrew my accordion binder thingie. I was putting them in envelopes and sticking them I’m a baby wipe container. That didn’t work well taking them into the store with 3 kids. And u can’t see your coupons inside white envelopes. It just wasn’t working. I was also dating and stacking my inserts and cutting as I go. That got confusing, overwhelming and messy. I had heard about the zper binder with baseball card pages but was too cheap to go out and buy stuff just to save money. I was couponing because I had to. Not because I was taking the amount I was savng on my grcery bill to put in a fund for a rainy day. (A lot of ppl coupon to save for something special. Vacation, car, ect.) I was getting coupons in the mail, from newspapers, peelies, blinkies, tear pads. Insde package boxes.  It became a huge mess and there were darn coupons everywhere!  I got tired of it and threw them all away.  Now once a couponer always a couponer. It was hard to grocery shop without them.  I cringe at the thought of paying full price for things.  I avoided shopping at all costs and would only make small trips here andthere.  Well those trips add up and my stock pile dissappeared.  I’m on my last free stick of deoderant and thought I needed to get organized and get back into the groove.  I broke down and spent $4 on baseball card insert pages.  I am using an old zipper binder of M’s (the rings are broken so I will need to buy a new one). I saved about 3 weeks of inserts and spent last Tuesday cutting them and puting them in the binder.  Wednesday I went through my sale ads, made a detailed list, and hit the stores.  Because it was the middle of the week a lot of the items on my list were out of stock.  And I should have grabbed rain checks, but since I’m a reborn coupon virgin I forgot.  :(  well I hit up rite aid, wal mart and giant eagle.  Drum roll……..  giant eagle: $5.01 ~ 2 oral b tooth brushes, 9 candy bars, jello pudding temptations, 5 sobe life waters, coffee creamer, and philly cooking creme
Rite aid: 3 transactions- 2 crest prohealth toothpaste $3.35. And 2 $2 up rewards. 5 sobe life waters. Used 1 $2 up reward from toothpaste and paid $1.80 oop. (Out of pocket) got $1 up reward. 8 robins egg bags. Used $1 up reward from sobe and paid .05. So I spent a total oop $5.20 and still have a $2 up reward from the toothpaste. And at walmart I ended up with a spic n span cleaner, travel deoderant and olay wash, 8 candy bars and 2 lunchables nd spent $1.49!!!  I can’t wait to go this week :) what do you do to save money? Do you have any cupon tips for me? Id love to hear your comments.

She keeps me entertained

It speaks for itself.

alrighty, so i tried to post from my phone and I obviously need more work in that department.  sorry folks  :op

Alright, I’ve never been one to say “I’m sorry” but I have been MIA lately and I really am sorry.  ):  I don’t even know why I haven’t been posting as much as I would like, but my blog is not the only thing that has taken a back seat.  Yes, I have 2 kids in sports.  We are getting back into the weeks where there isn’t one day we’re not doing anything.  My only “free time” seems to be in the mornings.  And my family can for this, I am not a morning person.  I am a bear.  A mean, ‘ole, grouchy, grizzly bear.  And we’re totally busy in the evenings.  The kids havent even been getting to bed until around 9:30-10 p.m.!  By then, I’m so pooped I’m usually in bed before they are.  I baby sit my nephew 2-3 days a week as you all know.  He wasn’t here for 10 minutes yesterday morning before he got paint everywhere and flushed 2 toothbrushes down the toilet.  Little M’s birthday is today.  I don’t have anything planned for her.  And I only started thinking about a party to celebrate Sunday!  So she’s gonna have to wait 3 weeks before her party.  ):  poor baby.  I hope I can pull it off.  It’s Candy Shoppe themed.  I still can’t find invitations I’m satisfied with.  Today, I thought I’d take her to a nearby indoor playground, but it was already 11:30 when I thought of that, so I scratched that idea.  And at noon, I thought about taking her out to get pictures.  Being as I have no time management I thought it would be safer to stay home for the day (because we have another busy evening and I need to be here when Big M gets home from school).  I have a bunch of tutu and hairbow orders that I need to have done by tomorrow anyway. I owe everyone who comments and orders a huge “THANK YOU”   (:  I’m blessed that you all like my work and I enjoy doing it.  I’m happy to report I’ve been doing well with that.

Big M has had his first baseball game.  I forgot my camera  ):  He did well, but we really need to work on good sportsmanship and teamwork.  He is so hard on himself.  ):  It really breaks my heart to hear and see the way he treats himself.  Another game today, so I am really hoping we have a better day.

Here is a run down of my schedule from the last couple days so you all have a better idea of what I’ve been up to.

Last Wednesday – Kids first day back to school from easter break.  I need to meet with M’s teachers because he has a bad attitude.  End of the year of 4th grade and he has started name calling.  I am not happy  ):<

Last Thursday – M had practice, I think.  Maybe that was his scrimmage.  Something was scheduled.  Maybe it even got canceled because we are getting more rain than we have ever had ever before.

Last Friday – Had to make a long trip that day, run a bunch of errands, B had practice.  We didn’t make it home ’till late.  All I did that day was live in my car.  I also had the nephew that day.

Saturday – Big M and B had baseball pics, at different times of course.  More running around.  Pick up 2 of Big M’s friends to sleepover.  FIL’s Birthday party. Remember Little M’s birthday is Thursday.

Sunday – 5:30 a.m.  Tell the boys to go to sleep finally.  Run more errands.  Pop-pop’s birthday party.  Show Little M some birthday party ideas and tell her to choose one.  She chose three.  Princess, Yo Gabba Gabba & Candy Shoppe.  I’ll  stick with the later.

nday – Kids to and from school.  The nephew.  Got kids ready for game and all dressed in layers (because its May here and feels like March) only to have it canceled as I am loading them all in the car.  To Grandma’s and Pop-Pops and to my parents new house and dinner with them.  Also migraine from H—.

Tuesday – Kids to and from school.  Took Marley, our Boxer to B’s school for show-n-tell.  She was so cute.  Wish I had pictures, but I forgot my camera.  I am drawing a blank on how this evening went.

Wednesday – Kids to school.  The nephew.  a little grocery shopping.  Forgot my checkbook.  Debit card MIA.  Only $5 in cash.  Must leave the store in embarrassment with no groceries.  Pick up B from school and take Big M his glasses.  Go get the groceries.  Look online for invitations.  Get big M and another child from school.  Dress in layers and break out the winter coats and accessories because its only 40 out and Big M has a game.

There you have it.  I promise I’m not lounging around on the couch eating bon bons (well maybe from 9-11 a.m.  ;)  j k).  As you can see, my blog isn’t the only thing that has suffered from my craziness.  Little M, my 3rd child, always gets the short end of the stick.

And so does my underwear.  (Don’t worry, they are clean, just ones I used to wear pre-motherhood)

Now every time I backspace to correct something, when I type it types right over what was previously written.  Sorry bout that but I know you’re all smart enough to figure it out.  ;)  thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoy Little M’s Birthday  =)   Maybe tomorrow if I’m not crazy I’ll do a post for her.  That’s a good idea!!   (:  a la “The Boy”.

Don’t drink too many margharitas.  (;  (oh I spelled that right.  I’m impressed!!  (:   )

B’s 1st baseball practice

B had her first baseball practice on Friday.  She was so excited, she had on her baseball pants and spikes at 7 am that morning.  Practice was at 5 pm.  When we got there she was shy and clingy and didn’t want to leave my side.  M went to the car to get his glove so he could “coach” and warmed up with her.  She felt a lot better with her big brother there helping her and was soon off to the next “station” without him.  I am so proud of her.  She is so funny and cute.  She is only one of two girls on her team but that doesn’t bother her at all.  And she’s like the most talented kid on her team!  =)  I swear!  I was the only dorky mom taking pictures, and I have a lot for your viewing pleasure!!  :)

  Fielding Grounders Station

  Shes in the all grey.

I might as well just start calling her (insert famous baseball players name here because I don’t know any).

  Batting Station

  She hit almost every one.

Max proud of his sister.  He’s lifting her up with a huge hug!  :)

Running the Bases

  Look at her go!

Of course, you have to slide into home plate.

The end of practice group, hand, cheer team name, thing.

And to finish off this fun post.  I know I have promised to never horrify my readers by showing you “What I’m Cooking” posts.  But I will tell you I made the BEST dinner I have ever made in my entire life.  The kids were silent while eating it.  Oh it was amazing.

My Oven Pot Roast with carrots, onions, and red potatoes ( do you really spell potatos like that?  my spell checker changed it.  huh)

and mac and cheese, not homemade, but the fancish-er one. lol  =)

And please don’t tell me pot roast is easy.  This is coming from someone who has ruined 3.  In a crock-pot.

New Family

This past weekend was an exciting one.  I finally got to meet my 2 week old cousin Kyleah.  She is tiny, precious, and perfect.  My aunt and uncle are so proud of their daughter.

Kyleah Alexis  <3

The New Daddy

The New Mommy

She is so small and sweet!  And looks just like a doll!  Absolutely perfect!  I just love her!  And so does her big cousin B.

Yes, I made her a Steelers headband.

And here is her little cousin, not quite 8 months old, trying to get a peek at the new addition.

It was so nice welcoming her with so many other members of my family.  I love get togethers and we don’t do that often enough.

Sunday was a HUGE day for my sister and I.  We have 2 sisters and 2 brothers that we got to meet for the very first time!  I was a bundle of nerves, and full of excitement all day.  My siblings mom was hospitable enough that she invited my mom and dad along.  I am so so thankful for her kindness and that my parents agreed and came along with my sister and I, and our families.   Everyone got along great and I don’t think the day could have been better.  My oldest, younger sister (does that make sence?) has 4 kids too!  So we got to meet 2 of our nieces!  The girls all got along so well.  I can’t wait to spend more time with my sisters.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and put that beautiful weather to good use.  Because today, its cold!  I have a busy week ahead.  I have to finish up everything for my craft show by Friday!  If you’re local please stop by.  We will have a ton of stuff for your little princess!  You won’t want to miss out.  :)

The Boy

My son.  Maxtin Jayse.  He is better than anything I could ever have asked for.  He has my heart.

I wound up pregnant at 17.  Scared and ashamed.  I felt very alone during that time.  When he arrived on October 24th, 2000 I was overwhelmed with love and pride.  I had my son.  My baby boy.  I vividly remember those days when he was a little babe.  He was the sweetest, happiest and cutest little guy ever.  I miss those days a lot.  It was a struggle.  I worked part-time and went to college part-time.  Everyone loved him.  Having a supportive family made it easier.  When he was a preschooler we moved out of mom and dads and got our own apartment.  Those days were a treasure.  I was still working part-time.  But by this time I left college.  We spent our time together playing, reading, learning.  I couldn’t afford cable then, so we spent a lot of quality time together.  He was the smartest little kid I’d ever known.  And the most beautiful. Everywhere we went someone was giving me a compliment on him.  When I found out I was pregnant with B my biggest fear was not having enough love to share.  I soon discovered that love does not divide, it grows.  My son is a big brother to 2 little girls.  And a fantastic one.

They fight.  A lot.  Mostly, he teaches them, and protects them.  He does what they want to do.  And most of the time will let them choose what to watch.  He is very tender, tucking his little sisters into bed each night.  And they love him more than anything.

He’s a smart kid.  Smarter than I even know why.  I struggled in school very early on.  He gets Honor roll every quarter.  He brings home a lot of A’s.  My refrigerator is cluttered.  He loves reading.  He read 9 books for the month of March and wrote a report for each one.  He was richly was rewarded by his teacher, and proud of his achievement.  It fascinates me he enjoys a good book so much.  He has 2 A’s and 2 B’s right now.  He’s so bright.  I couldn’t be more proud of my boy.

He’s an athlete.  And he’s a good one too.  With a fantastic group of friends.  I’m proud of his outgoing attitude.  Not like me at all. He plays football, basketball, and baseball.

I love being his #1 fan.

He got to go to the symphony today with his class.  He was excited, because I used to play violin.  But tried to play it cool because he was asked to dress up.  Cool, 10-year-old athletes don’t dress up.  According to him.  This was the best I could do.  It was a compromise.  He got to pick out the pants and I got to pick out his shirt.  I couldn’t get him into khakis.  I tried.  But he looks pretty darn handsome to me.

We absolutely have a special bond.  We watched each other grow up in a way.  I love my boy so much.  He is one of my greatest gifts.  Perfect in every way.  I miss my baby boy.  But I am so proud of the young man he is becoming.

I love you my sweet boy.  With all of my heart.

Love,   Mommy

Back on track

This post is a little more personal than normal.  I have been a suffer of depression for years.  It’s an up and down struggle for me.  Things got pretty bad in October.  After starting off on a great routine, I somehow struggled to get out of bed in the mornings.  I felt like a ton of horrible things were happening to me.  One of them still affect me.  Someone close to my family treated me really badly.  I still feel the brunt of that today.  I also got into a car accident.  It wasn’t serious, as in no one got hurt.  I had 3 babies with me that morning.  But I was seeing a chiropractor for a back sprain.  Soon after that, I found out that B, my 5-year-old had 7 cavities and a surgery was suggested.  Talk about guilt mixed in with fear and a Dad that disagrees with not only my decision to go through with it but advice saying the surgery was a “better option” from her very own dentist, her dentists nurse, her physicians nurse,  and 2 specialists.  There was a lot of arguing and the disagreement didn’t make the guilt from the cavities ease, but worse.  For some reason, a fluke, B was removed from our health insurance 2 days before the scheduled surgery.  I didn’t even know until I took her to the doctor for the pre-op physical and was informed there.  After everything was all  set to go for her surgery.  It wasnt a quick fix and according to the insurance company they don’t know what happened.  So I feel like a moron calling like a day or 2 before the surgery and had to cancel.  That has been on the back burner for months now.  I cried a lot this winter.  I stopped volunteering at Big M’s school.  Something that makes my life as a SAHM seem more fulfilling and less stoic.  Maybe that term is a bit strong.  I love serving at home, but at times I just go through the motions.  I stopped attending church as much.  Something I thrive on.  Something I need.  And love.  I stopped going to my connect group.  I stopped going to CR.  I stopped going to my “mom’s aerobic group”.  I really needed to be surrounded by all that love.  I really need to do those things to strengthen my faith.  And just connect with adults.  But I didn’t have the energy.  My life just stopped.  I spent my days sleeping a lot.

The depression has gotten better with treatment.  I could still be doing more, but I just don’t.  And my only excuse is that I don’t have the energy.  I volunteered at Big M’s school this past week for the first time in months.  Volunteering at school made me feel really good and refreshed.  Honestly, the hours leading up to it, I was dreading going.  I can think of a million excuses.  Our evening would be spent rushing to eat an early dinner and rushing to get home and ready for bed because I had to take my children.  But, I’m really happy I went.  I spent the evening with 2 women whose company I enjoy and we laughed, drank coffee, snuck some cookies, and got to connect with other parents.

A few weeks ago, I was asked by a member of my church to serve on the Welcome Team.  I excitedly and gladly excepted and signed up right away!  I have thought about serving a lot but always talk myself out of it.  I have talked about my time management skills before and well… they suck.  I have 3 children that I basically do everything physically for.  Not complaining, but it is time-consuming and exhausting.   Today, the “First Impressions” group at church was meeting at 9.  I went to bed excited and ready.  I woke up at 7:30, well before my alarm.  As the morning wore on, my confidence was dwindling.  Satan was grabbing ahold of me.  Crumbling my self-worth and ability to be a good and faithful servant.  I actually picked up the postcard I got in the mail this week inviting me to the meeting and thought about canceling.  I quickly knew that was the wrong choice to make.  I wanted to commit.  I wanted to do this.  I want to serve God.  I went to the meeting.  I got there on time.  I enjoyed myself and met some great women there.  I’m very excited about serving God and proud I listened to Him when He reached out to me.  Like I said, I had always wanted to serve more in my church, but something in me always pulled me back.  It has been hard to get back into my routine but having such supportive friends and family has helped.  I have been praying each night and beginning to make time to meditate each morning and the path God had for me has been much clearer.  Life is Good.
